Pyper Paul + Kenney Breaks ADDY Award Record
Tampa, Fla. - February 20, 2007 - For the second straight year, controversial and fast moving Tampa-based advertising and PR agency Pyper Paul + Kenney has annihilated the competition at the American Advertising Federation's Tampa Bay ADDY Awards Show.
With close to 1,000 entries in this year's competition, the Tampa Bay show has become the largest and perhaps the most competitive local event in the national competition. This year's show was held at Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With 38 Tampa Bay companies winning awards in this year's ADDY awards show, Pyper Paul + Kenney, won 130 total awards for 15 different clients, dominating the competition with little resistance. The agency's awards included the coveted Best of Show award, nine out of 12 of the Best of the Bay category awards, and 62 of the 78 Gold ADDY awards handed out at this year's event.
"PP+K finished first with 62 Golds and second place was a five-way tie with two Golds each, so there isn't even a clear runner up in this competition," said Paul Daigle, PP+K's president. "That's gotta hurt, but what can we say, 'We're sorry?"
"Everyone at PP+K pours their souls into the work we do," said Tom Kenney, the agency's executive creative director. "There's nothing glamorous about what we do, we bang it out 24/7 to make things happen for our clients. Every single one of us has bled in some way or another for the love we have for advertising, our clients, and each other. Our crew deserves every ounce of glory they receive in these award shows."
