Description: What's so cool? Once the old detective barracks for the Tampa Police, PP+K searched for a space that would allow for an open pit work area that fosters collaboration and stifles gossip and backstabbing, said President Paul Daigle. There's 52-inch LCD TVs everywhere, Daigle said, some of which are connected to Xbox 360 gaming systems. A "brainstorm" room was outfitted with low couches in a laid back "coffee shop style," he said. "We did our best to make it as much of a noncorporate home theater hangout space as we could."

What it took: What it took: It was a challenge to find a space that wasn't too expensive and still made bottom-line sense to rent, versus buy or build its own headquarters. At its Florida Avenue home, the landlord was accommodating and allowed a buildout that included exposing the natural wood on the floors and in the rafters.

Revisions: Very little, said Daigle. "It takes time to make it homey," he said. "But each day, it gets a little more homey." It isn't unusual to expect an ad agency to try to develop an artsy space that fosters creativity. But PP+K wants to take it a step further. It envisions its team feeling like they are working in a community microcosm.
